The Best Dressed Wedding Guest

How is it June already?! I feel like we blinked and boom here we are almost halfway through 2022 and that is INSANE to me! With the month of June comes so much, we have PRIDE, Graduations, Father’s Day, the kickoff to summer and WEDDINGS! My personal favorite, idk what it is but something about weddings just excites me and gets me so dang happy! Let’s face it I am a romantic kind of girl and weddings bring it all out, I have a massive dream that one day I would love to own my very one wedding venue, a white very elegant barn with an incredible outdoor space, a long driveway with a white fence and trees lining it (I haven’t thought about it at all lol). I am so excited to see so many finally getting to have their big day and that we are resuming all the wedding craze after these past 2 years, we have 3 weddings this summer and 2 already on the books for next year. One of my favorite parts about being a guest at weddings is dressing up, its not often that we take an evening to put on a nicer dress and suit (I mean let’s face it most weekends we are spending in our home project clothes and working on the house!), and this season I decided to have a little fun with it!

I am at this place in life were whenever I am getting ready for the day or an event, I ask myself, do I feel comfortable in this, do I feel confident in this, do I feel beautiful in this? If I can say yes to all 3 of those questions then it’s a winner! I won’t lie life hasn’t always been this way for me, if you have followed along with my fitness journey than you know in 2014, I was not in a place to confidently put on any kind out outfit, I was overweight, depressed, and had no self-confidence. I would go to get ready for the day and nothing would fit, I didn’t feel comfortable, confident or beautiful and lots of times this led to me sitting on the bed crying or going and maxing out another credit card trying to find something that would hide all the insecurities I was having within myself and bring to light those 3 attributes that I so badly wanted. Its taken a lot of effort and the confidence didn’t happen overnight it came with so many days of hard, days of consistently showing up when I didn’t want to, and you know something that hard work paid off, I lost the weight which was great (my doctors love me for it!) but what was better was I could prove to myself that I could be happy, that I didn’t need to continue to buy clothes to cover insecurities and now I have fun buying them for me and for me to express myself.

This year I decided I wanted to go a little more gown style than cocktail with my attire, there is just something about putting on a long pretty dress that kind of makes you feel like your own Disney princess and let’s be real I am all here for that lol! Up first is this gorgeous navy gown that I am wearing to a wedding tomorrow! What I love about this dress is one, its incredibly budget friendly! Like $50 budget friendly and not cheaply made at all! It’s a little bit on the ticker side which personally I like. The off the shoulder just adds such elegance without being to over the top formal, and the slit is to die for! I paired it with some fun and pretty earrings that I found on amazon and the cutest little clutch also an amazon finds! Next up is another fun gown form Windsor.com and this one is so much fun and flirty! The straps on this dress crisscross in the back, this does have a much higher slit than the navy one but comes in tons of different fun colors! What sold me on this dress is the ruffling along the slit it added fun and elegance without again being to over the top formal! That’s what was so fun about both gowns was they could be dressed up or down with accessories and Windsor is so budget friendly with amazing quality of dresses! The fact that they shipped the dresses in their own plastic dress bag and hanger was so nice! The last one I purchased for the weddings this summer was this super fun scaley dress, its going to a be a dual purpose this summer with our annual coaches’ conference happening I am going to be wearing it for the dress up closing night and then for a friend’s wedding as well! This beauty was from a favorite of mine Red Dress, I got a ton of summer dresses from them this year because the quality and fit of their dresses is incredible! They are a little bit more than Windsor when it comes to pricing but the quality of them is worth it for sure!
